The sugar apple is a popular tropical fruit that is also known as "sweetsop" and in Spanish as "anón." It has custard like flesh that is segmented, creamy, white, and so so sweet! The sugar apple belongs to the family Annonaceae, which is also known as the Annona family. It is used fresh and in certain sweet recipes like milkshakes. It is best eaten out of hand, and since it is so sweet you might even call it dessert!

Description

You will receive sugar apple (Sweetsop/Anón) seeds that are harvested from our sugar apple trees in South Florida. The seeds are washed then dried out of direct sunlight at room temperature. Properly dried sugar apple seeds remain viable only for a few months. These seeds need to be planted as soon as possible after you receive them.

In order to grow these seeds we recommend soaking them for a few hours in water and using the paper towel method to germinate them. You can also plant some of the seeds in pots. The seeds take 2-4 weeks to germinate. They also need warm temperatures throughout (mid 70 to mid 80 degrees Fahrenheit).

The sugar apple is a tropical fruit with custard like flesh. The flesh is segmented, creamy, white, and very sweet. The sugar apple belongs to the family Annonaceae, which is also known as the Annona family.
