Yes they are so tough. I have heard that a pineapple top can live for a couple weeks without any water or soil. I can't wait to have pineapples growing everywhere! Definitely a great plant to grow in South Florida.

Using this method, I've harvested a ripe pineapple 18 months after planting a top, and that was without even giving it super great care. Pineapple plants are so tough!
